Apps

Apps I've helped ship, from live sports and airline check-in to smart door hardware, plus a light clock of my own.

Lightphase

Lightphase

iOS

A light clock for photographers. Lightphase names the phase of natural light you're standing in (twilight, golden hour, the 35° window) and counts down to the next one. Drag the sun along its curve to see what the light will be doing later, or glance at a widget or Apple Watch complication instead of opening the app. The sun is computed on the device, so it works with no signal and your location never leaves your phone.

Allegion Optimize

Allegion Optimize

The device management app field technicians use to commission, configure and service Allegion connected door hardware, starting with LCN Senior Swing automatic door operators. It connects to the operator over BLE to walk through setup, test and calibrate the door, adjust settings like open speed and backcheck angle, pull diagnostics and audit logs, and push firmware updates over the air.

Epic Mix

Epic Mix

Epic Mix, later rebranded as My Epic: Skiing & Snowboarding, was among the first Android apps I helped to develop back in 2011. It enabled skiers and snowboarders to track their days on Vail Resorts mountains. Users could earn pins for various milestones, monitor the vertical feet skied daily and seasonally, and share this information on social networks like Facebook and Twitter. A major feature I contributed to allowed photos taken on the mountain to appear in the app.
